Noisy miners are one of the things that has changed for the worse in Brisbane and elsewhere. I think they have passed their peak as they have selected out all the small birds, leaving more room for lorikeets and blue-faced honeyeaters, who aren't frightened of them.
I saw an ad for A Current Affair once and some people were complaining about the noise lorikeets made in the trees outside their house. We laughed and thought they were silly. Turns out cousins of ours were neighbours and had recorded the noise on their phones. They played if for us and it really was deafening.
‘The therapeutic maneuver of waiting.’ Ooft . Love this.
Your writing is such a gift, thank you so much.
I'm curious! What was the song your kids don't like?
Beautiful writing Andie
